for the past 13 or so years, i've been collecting recordings. in basements, fields, apartments, harbors, bedrooms, streets, and rituals, i've been gathering sounds and creating my own—and slowly, over time and especially this past season, sorting, honing, and allowing some of them to coalesce into actual tracks. the tracks and EP were almost completely improvised, and produced and mixed entirely on a 2005, barely-working macbook with an old version of ableton. rather than making a perfectly polished product, i wanted to work with what i had on hand—allowing the technological constraints to help form something organic, lo-fi, and raw, held within the structure of electronic production.

creating this EP was a literal phoenix process—making magic from ashes of the past, and a ritual of intense transformation.
